A recent outing to Main Beach in Laguna, landed me across the street from this little boutiquing spot. Having not stopped in for a while, I snuck away from the husband to check it out. This is not the casual boutique I remember. I was thrilled to walk in and see they have upped their game in the best way. The store has that luxurious boutique hotel feel, with clean design mixed with opulent wallpaper and chandeliers. The layout is refreshingly shopper friendly, even with a stroller, and I was intrigued enough to look at EVERYTHING in the store.

If you, like me, long to find things that you don't see everywhere, Cloudwalk is your new best friend. I could feel my heart beat a little faster when I pulled a Charlotte Ronson dress off the rack - if you haven't seen her stuff, you need to! She is an edgy, yet completely wearable young designer - gotta say, I am saving some room in the walk in for this Charlottle Ronson blouse. But, I digress...also spotted in this super chic boutique, were incredible leather bags by Rebecca Minkoff (I dare you to touch one and try to walk away), the perfect Summer beachy pieces you'll live in by Ella Moss, and a slew of denim - all at 25% off!

By the way...did I mention that you can still see the beach from this place...I mean really, how nice is that! So next time you hit Main Beach, stick an extra quarter in the meter, and check out this little boutique's new look. You just may not make it across the street to the beach after all...

I often daydream about my great boutiquing adventures...the small streets of Venice (all I have to say is....LEATHER), traversing NYC in search of that dress I saw in the magazine, the winding adobe lined streets of New Mexico, where I found my favorite, last for a lifetime, AMAZING belt...and a Halloween costume for my daughter – why not? In all of these experiences I reveled in feeling like one of the locals, chatting with shop owners, admiring their culture, and soaking it all in.

I am pretty sure very few of us are in a position to gallivant around Italy this year...and if we are, there will probably be no shopping, but I am comforted to know that I can continue having these experiences right here. Boutiquing in Laguna Beach, while comfortingly familiar, still takes on a vacation with the best of them feel – especially right now – gorgeous weather AND ample parking – nice! I also plan to head to previously undiscovered boutiquing destinations. I am excited to take in the beach scenes and relax while boutiquing for a day in Huntington Beach...sounds like an escape to me. Now is the time to rediscover the hidden gems we are surrounded by...and an added benefit...you get to come back anytime you want...no zip lock bag toting through security required!

Driving down 17th last week, I did a total double take when I saw a sign for LANIS Boutique. How was there a boutique I hadn't seen before? After stopping into Twice the Style and Shopgirls (where I picked up a postcard for LANIS), I decided to drop in. This place is not only BEAUTIFUL it is absolute shoe heaven! I would recommend a pedicure next door first, these shoes were born to be tried on.

I spied an amazing pair by Coclico, the leather feels like butter. And if it hasn't already been mentioned, I have a thing for soft leather (and check out their commitment to being eco-conscious). Lanis also stocks a nice selection of Cole Haan styles, the ones you don't see everywhere. They also have an extensive sale section, where all shoes are under $100 - it makes up almost half the store! Also spotted was an amazing bag by Badgley Mischka - another of my personal favorites and the full line of Anthousa home fragrance.
